應(yīng)該用一般過(guò)去時(shí)。因?yàn)閍t the beginning意為“在開(kāi)始的時(shí)候”，一般用來(lái)敘述事情發(fā)生的先后順序。除此之外，還有at first，then，at last，finally，immediately，at once，eventually，suddenly等。如：At the beginning the house caught fire. Immediately some people rushed out and cried for help. Finally some firefighters came and put it out.
